The Chicago Bulls fell to 1-3 in Summer League play Thursday after a 105-82 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers that included a surprisingly meek performance from Dailyn Swain, the team's first round pick out of Texas.
Swain failed to capitalize on his matchups against a mostly unknown Lakers starting lineup, finishing with just four points on 1-of-5 shooting with a +/- rating of -21.
Earlier this week, Bulls coach Tiago Splitter spoke to media during which he laid out his thoughts on what Swain must do to regain the form that made him a star in Austin with the Texas Longhorns.

Splitter said that Swain is overthinking on the court, hinting that his decision making has suffered as a result.
"Tiago, where do you think Dailyn is in this process right now?" the Bulls coach was asked this past Tuesday.
"Um, you know I talked to him...He's overthinking a little bit too much, and gonna just go there and play basketball and shoot when he's open," Splitter said.
"I think he's just overthinking too much, uh, we're gonna watch film again with him and try to get play a little bit more loose and to make good decisions."
Splitter continued, saying that he's been talking with Swain and other Bulls players about individual improvements.
He said he noticed from the sidelines that Swain is too much in his head.
"Yeah," Splitter said when asked if he noticed it.
"He's open...You gotta shoot it (or) drive in a straight line, sometimes he's trying (to do too much) and he's gotta choose one side and go.
"We've been talking and you know, it's part of this, I told the guys, this is the first step into NBA and they're nervous, and some of them aren't playing well," he continued.
"That's why we have the Summer League, to go through this, you know, struggles and learn from it."
Swain failed to make a big impact on Thursday's game vs. Los Angeles as he recorded just one assist, one steal and two rebounds to go with his four points.
The Bulls selected Swain out of Texas after a 17.3 points-per-game, 7.4-rebound season in Austin.
With Caleb Wilson looking like a future star, the Bulls likely won't need him to be an alpha on the offensive side of the ball.
They do need him to play with confidence and efficiency while maintaining a high level of production, three areas where he has clearly been lacking so far in Summer League play.
