At some point furing the NBA postseason, the league will announce who took home the MVP award and the Michael Jordan Trophy. The three finalists are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nikola Jokic, although Antetokounmpo is all but a gurantee to finish in third place.
At this point, it's a two-man race, and the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets will face off in the second round, and the MVP award could be announced during the series.

Winning an MVP award all but cements a player's legacy as a Hall of Famer. Jokic has long been a lock for Springfield, and an MVP award would put SGA in the same boat, although neither is expected to spend time thinking about that during the second-round showdown.
"Those guys are pros," said Thunder coach Mark Daigneault. "I know Shai a lot better than I know Jokic, but I think I know enough about him to know neither one of them are going to get distracted by that. Both of them are going to be fully invested in the series. And so that's a supplement to the series. But it's really not part of the series at all."
While fans and the media might be focused on who takes home the hardware, the league's best players are only focused on getting their team to the Western Conference Finals.
The Thunder will host the Nuggets on Monday at 8:30 CST, with the game being broadcast on TNT.
