I posted this in the game thread tonight but I figured that it needed its own thread...

I know its only game 2 of the preseason but this rookie class continues to impress me quite a bit

DRC - nobody throws to his side and the one time that they did tonight, he read it and probably would've had an INT if Adams didn't drop it

Campbell - took advantage of the Dockett injury and seemed to be in on just about every play

Doucet - Injured but I expect him to contribute

Iwebama - Has shown some speed and has made quite a few plays himself.

Hightower - What else is there to say about this kid other than he looks to be a flat out steal? Surprising quicks, has some niftyness, and always seems to be going forward

Harrington - made some nice plays last week and has done some nice things on special teams this week. We'll probably try to stow him away on the practice squad due to the depth we have at the position

Keith - Continues to make solid blocks

Highsmith - although he doesn't look like anything on the practice field or at the combine, the kid shows up when the lights are on.

Ive been very very impressed..

The guy I've liked the most is Calais Campbell.. Only 21 yrs old, and the kid can hold his own against 1st team Olinemen..

I think he's gonna be a tremendous player for us..

DRC is gonna be a long time starter here, when he gets his weight up a little and his reps up..

I think both the 1st and 2nd rounders are gonna end up being long time impact Cardinals, and that is thrilling..

Now to the later rounds..

Doucet, I have little doubt he's gonna be a contributor when he gets healthy and gets his reps up.. he was legit in college, has an NFL body and mind, and while he'll never be a #1 WR.. he's gonna be a contributor in this league for a long time.. that being said, Breaston has done more than enough to be the #3 man this yr..

Iwebema, I hated the pick.. im a B10 football fan, and I saw alot of this guy in college, and I didnt like him.. but he's made 3-4 plays in the preseason, and has done well in practice.. You gotta think he's a future rotation player at minimum on the Dline..

Timmy Hightower.. didnt know who the heck he was when drafted.. watched the highlights vids like all u guys, and loved him.. and he hasnt disappointed in camp and in the preseason.. Kid is our redzone back right now.. and will probably score 5-6 TDs this year.. Finds the hole, gets his feet up, and goes forward.. I dont think he'll ever be a feature back, but he's an ideal #2 man in the NFL.. and will certainly have a home with the Cards for awhile..

Brandon Keith.. looks to be at minimum, a guy who can be a solid backup at OT or OG.. but has the potential to be a starter in this league.. great pick

Harrington.. has excelled on ST in my opinion.. i dont really see much upside with him, but who knows..

So yea, early returns look very good

After watching Hart for four years. I think I would rather have Hightower over Hart. Just seems a bit more quicker/faster to me.

I don't think Hart would be able to get to the corner like Hightower did.

Out of all the picks. Calias "Bubba Bleu" Campbell will be the best. This kid is going to be VERY VERY special IMO.

You watch him get after it out there, and you forget he is 6'8" and 295 lbs.....with room to spare no less.

It's hard not to think that the Cards got 5 future starters out of this draft in DRC,Campbell,Doucet,Hightower, and Keith. Plus, i think Iwebema will be a very good situational player. You can't argue with a draft like that.

I should have figured it will be a stellar class because on the draft day thread i think i ripped on every pick except DRC. I get the :trout: :slap: :mulli: :doi:

I'm glad i didn't read this while i was eating breakfast :barf:.
Would you have figured Mendenhall to be a 1st rounder before the start of last season? No.

Hart has been hurt ans was damaged goods going into the draft class this year. Most big 10 rb's dont pan out so I'm probably wrong.

No i didn't figure that on Mendenhall but i was probably his biggest proponent for the Cards to draft him. It all worked out because he's in a great situation and the Cards look like they made out as well.

Lllllloyd Carr ran Hart into the ground just like he did with every other talented back he had at Michigan.
