After making a massive trade in free agency on Tuesday, the Denver Broncos and several of their stars are excited for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to join the team, a move which was made official on Wednesday.
The latest Bronco to celebrate the arrival of the sixth-year veteran was No. 1 receiver Courtland Sutton. Sutton has been quarterback Bo Nix's favorite target for the past two seasons, and has often drawn the difficult assignment of going up against an opponent's No. 1 corner, and often drawn a safety shade on his side of the field.
Sutton took to Instagram shortly after the trade, showing his excitement. "LET'SSSSSS GOOOOO!!!" Sutton wrote as the caption to his Instagram story.
The Broncos' wide receiver room gets a significant boost from Waddle, who is a speedy option all over the field, breaking 1,000 yards receiving three times already in his career. If Waddle can take pressure off Nix and Sutton, the field gets even bigger with offensive coordinator Davis Webb calling the plays in 2026.
"I'm excited," Waddle said in an interview with Broncos team reporter Aric DiLalla. "It's a lot to build on. (The wide receiver room is) all playmakers, so it's always exciting to play with a lot of different talented players."
The Broncos' offense will look to improve on a season where they reached the AFC Championship in 2025, and Waddle is poised to be a big part of that improvement.
