The facilities at Oregon's Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, just south of Eugene, are being upgraded. Property documents indicate the course was sold to Jim Pliska in 2002.

The space is home to the Oregon Ducks’ golf teams, and prior development there provided them with new facilities. In 2023, the Peter and Jan Jacobson Oregon Golf Teaching Facility opened at the golf club. The training facility features nine covered outdoor driving-range bays, a covered patio area, an interior lounge and a PuttView practice system.

Now, construction is underway for a new clubhouse at the course.

Laine Wortman, general manager and head golf professional, said the new clubhouse is about 70% complete after the project broke ground in late August 2025.

“The current clubhouse was built in the 1930s as an old chicken coop and it’s just been remodeled and re-engineered to suit our needs over the last 40 years since we opened in 1966,” Wortman said. “The golf course is such a high quality, we finally are creating a facility that kind of matches what the players get when they play golf here.”

Wortman said the new clubhouse will include a larger pro shop and updates to the restaurant. He said a new patio space will feature an east-facing view to capture sunrises and will have fire pits and outdoor televisions. There will be indoor seating for about 60 people.

“The golf course has always been the crown jewel and it will still be, but we’ll at least have some enhancements in the food and beverage, the pro shop and the entire facility won’t be a 1920s chicken coop, it’ll be a 2026 architectural spectacle,” Wortman said. “It’s a very neat-looking building.”

He said upgrades to the clubhouse will match the quality experience Emerald Valley Golf Club has been providing on the course for decades.

The new clubhouse is expected to be completed in late September.
