This is stupid. These refs are doing just about everything within their power to make sure Phoenix stays in this game.

The only reason Phoenix hasn't been run off the court is the terrible series of calls down the strech. I dont know how many baskets have been called off but its insane.

This isnt quite as blatant as the Wolves-Lakers..but damn it sure is close.

Its funny to see what the other side is thinking. We think that Phoenix got majorly screwed yet I read this from a spurs board. Maybe the NBA is just one big conspiracy.

I was at the game last night. The fans were going nuts every time the referees blew their whistles. I wouldn't say the officiating was good. I would say it was pretty equally bad. Down the stretch Stephon Marbury went to the free throw line a few times where it looked pretty clear to me that he should have been called for offensive fouls. Amare Stoudemire's 6th doll might not have been a good call, but just before it I thought he took Tim Duncan's arms off without getting called.

That said, I don't think anybody looking at these games objectively could possibly say that the officiating has favored the Phoenix Suns in any of these games so far. I taped the game last night. I'm going to watch the final quarter and maybe more later today.

A look at the facts

Without arguing each foul here is how the facts laid out:

Game 1:
SUNS - PF 33 FTA 25
SPURS - PF 22 FTA 41

Game 2:
SUNS - PF 25 FTA 18
SPURS - PF 17 FTA 25

Game 3:
SUNS - PF 28 FTA 25
SPURS - PF 22 FTA 29

Game 4:
SUNS - PF 30 FTA 24
SPURS - PF 22 FTA 28

So, clearly by just looking at the Stats one can see that the Spurs have held the advantage in every game when it concerns the refs. I'm not even going to argue how many times Duncan fouls under the basket and it's either a non-call or given to another San Antonio player.... won't even bring it up! Everybody interpets the game with a bias to their team...this is the problem, the refs shouldn't have that bias....

We all know there is "favortism" in the NBA. It has to be that way! It's a business!

Look at all the commercials with Kobe or Shaq in them. Those cost lots of money to air on national tv. The Lakers will be in the Championship series. They have too...Too much money has been spent by Americas' big corporations. (actually now that I say that...this may finally be the year they won't make the Finals only because of the sheer outlash of fans and media about the NBA's favortism and obvious bias officaiting to gaurentee them a spot in the Finals. Unfortunently, people will still tune in, thus giving David Stern the only choice to tell game officials..."Get them in.")

Look at this way. We are fans of the game. YES we have our favorite team, and we want them to win. But in todays world, you have to appeal to the masses. The NBA is all about appealing to the masses. Hype, hype and more hype. It's a calculated risk they play with fans and viewers. We all watch, and still watch even when we know Shaq would foul out of every game if he wore a Suns uniform. As it is now...everybody wins. David Stern is a freakin' Geniues! And we are the guniea pigs.
