This Celtic Board will take no heed of supporters’ boycott

Celtic fans voting with their feet, but will the club listen? Not a chance, as they have our season ticket money safely secured in their PLC bank account…

Celtic supporters sent a clear statement

Yesterday afternoon a huge number of Celtic supporters sent a clear statement of intent, firmly in the direction of the club’s incompetent hierarchy, as they stayed clear of the pre-season friendly clash with Middlesbrough at Celtic Park.

There seemed to be more visiting supporters in attendance than home supporters, and hazarding a guess, I’d say that the total crowd was well under the 20,000 mark, perhaps as low as 10,000.

More will stay away against AC Milan

I’d guess it’s going to be the same for next week’s warm up clash with AC Milan, as Celtic supporters vote with their feet against the incompetence that threatens us from within, yet again.

Yesterday’s message from the stay away supporters is the clearest indication yet that it’s not just a small percentage of supporters that are frustrated and angry with the way our club is being run, and if those in charge didn’t already know that they have last the faith of the majority, then they certainly do now.

The Celtic Board will fail to pay any attention

The concerning thing for me though, and everyone else, is that I don’t think that they really care and more importantly they will not take any notice. There is zero chance that this board will ever listen to the supporters, who are the heartbeat of the club after all.

They know that they can survive a couple of boycotted pre-season matches, due to the stacks of cash they received for the incredible season ticket sales, which once again sold in massive numbers.

Boycotting merchandise, and friendly briefs will make a small dent, but unfortunately it’s not enough to make the Celtic Board sit up and take notice.

Season ticket boycott is never going to happen

A massive boycott of season tickets would have hurt the club in the pocket, but that’s never going to happen, as supporters, myself included are at their mercy, due to our love for the club, and can’t help ourselves when it comes to renewal time.

We can keep protesting in other ways as much as we like, but are they really going to take any notice? Unfortunately we all know the answer to that one, and it’s a resounding no.

Let’s wait and see what happens over the next few weeks ahead of the flag day opener against Dundee early next month. The Celtic team taking the field that day will be a symbol of where the board’s ambition for the club sits these days and few will be expecting anything positive from that.

Expect more excuses, more embarrassments and more player sales

More excuses, more embarrassments and most of all more top players sold as we will say goodbye to some of the mainstay performers who helped deliver the league and cup double despite the Board’s dreadful season in sacking Brendan Rodgers (for simply telling it as it is) and bringing in such a hopeless replacement in Wilfried Nancy.
