The pregame shouting match?

Anybody know what happened? ESPN showed Dockett and others in a shouting match with Taylor and others, but didn't explain what caused it.

Maybe all the Miami fans were cheering Quan and Dolphin players got jealous?

Jason Taylor is an arrogant a-hole. My brother inlaw is a diehard Dolphin fan and I noticed before watching his games. Taylor is a great player but him and TO seem related in wanting attention in the worst way.

All week Miami kept saying that they were gonna roll over the Cards and that they have no respect at all for Arizona, so some words and actually some punches were thrown before the game. Shane is convinced that they were fighting over Bill Gramatica LOL

Former University of Miami cornerback Duane Starks said the incident began when Miami cornerback Sam Madison tried to kick a ball off Arizona's tee.

''Some of the guys didn't take too lightly to that,'' Starks said.

Several players pushed and shoved each other for about 30 seconds, but nothing substantial occurred.

''I don't know what that was,'' Cardinals cornerback Robert Tate said. 'That's just something to pump up your team. Anytime you get a little edge to start the game out to pump up your team, we're going to try to do something. Then [ Jason Taylor] jumped in there and I was like `what are they doing.' Nobody was looking to start anything. It was just a little energy boost.''

Boys will be boys

The Dolphins and Cardinals had an informal scrum at midfield before the game in which a phantom punch was thrown and shoves were exchanged.

Some of the main combatants were Randy McMichael, Patrick Surtain, David Bowens and Jason Taylor for the Dolphins and Renaldo Hill, Quentin Harris and Darnell Dockett for the Cardinals.

"Emotions came into it," Bowens said. "They had a player come out and try to call out one of our players while we were warming up, and I take that personally, no matter what our record is. I'm not going to sit here and lay down for these people."

No penalties were assessed.

Dockett, a rookie tackle from Florida State, enjoyed the tiff.

"It actually pumped me up. I live and die for stuff like that," he said.

Yeah, he is. How many teams kickers are involved in tackles after a kick off? It seems like Rackers is in on a lot of tackles for a kicker.

Reminds me of one of my favorite kicker stories. Scott Bently was a legacy from Notre Dame. The kid was a great high school kicker but also played safety and every other position in highschool. Ran like a 4.6 40. When he went to Florida State Bowden asked him "Its the Orange Bowl (National Championship game) and you are kicking off. You line up and it's you against 11 on the opposition. You have no team mates. Can you kick it out of the endzone?" Bentley said if I don't I'll make the tackle. Rare in a kicker but great to see another one in Rackers.

Fighting a kicker is like fighting a girl (if you are a guy). Either you lose, and a girl kicked your arse, or you win and the big, bad guy beat up on some poor girl. It's a no win.
