TURIN, ITALY - JULY 07: Frederic Massara poses at Juventus Headquarters on July 07, 2026 in Turin, Italy. (Photo by Filippo Alfero - Juventus FC/Juventus FC via Getty Images) | Juventus FC via Getty Images
A year ago, Juventus put their faith in Damien Comolli to try and turn things around in Turin.
Now, 12 months later, all of the fingerprints that Comolli had appear to be gone — other than pretty much all of the very ineffective and overpriced signings that he brought in last summer, of course.
Juventus have replaced Comolli with a new CEO and general manager, Giovanni Carnevali. He, in turn, has brought in a new right-hand man in former Roma sporting director Frederic Massara, who is Juve’s new Chief Football Officer. Between Carnevali, Massara and sporting director Marco Ottolini, there is now a much more “traditional” hierarchy in the Juventus sporting area.
Whether it actually works is anybody’s guess.
But as players make their way back to Continassa to begin preseason training under Luciano Spalletti, the latest Juventus front office reconstruction looks to be close to its completion. And let us just hope that we’re not saying the same kind of thing 12 months from now as well.
