Most college football fans know which program leads all of FBS in winning percentage. We know most Ohio State fans know it, because it's the Buckeyes with a .737 all-time winning percentage, just ahead of Alabama that has a .733 winning percentage. However, if you are a Buckeye fan, you also know which program has the most wins of all-time because your arch-rival loves to thump its chest about it.

Yes, it's Michigan who is the only program that has eclipsed 1,000 all-time wins with a total of 1,021 wins. The Wolverine program has been around longer, and that's why the difference with all-time wins and all-time winning percentage. However, OSU has been slowly catching over the last couple of decades and sit in second place with all-time wins, having notched 990 program wins.

That means Ohio State is still 32 wins behind the Maize and Blue all-time, but things can continue to be reeled in year over year, and a good way to start that is by becoming just the second program to surpass 1,000 wins all-time. It'll take a great year against a schedule that's one of the toughest we've seen in quite some time, but OSU figures to play 12 regular-season games and at least one or two more in the postseason.

It must be noted that Ohio State has already technically won more than 1,000 games, but because of Tattoo gate during the Jim Tressel era, it had to vacate 12 wins from the 2010 season, and you have to go by the record books from the NCAA, and it shows 990 wins as the tally.

In case you didn’t know, Ohio State has the highest all-time win % among major college football programsat .737, with a record around 990-337-53,

We'll keep an eye on this throughout the season, but that game at Texas may loom large in Week 2 to act as a catapult towards getting to that milestone as a program. Ohio State's first game of the year is the week prior against Ball State at home.
