Graves will show if he is cut out for the job by doing one thing, one very very very important thing. Regardless that the Cardinals clearly didn't win the value game of the draft which will only matter to Mel Kiper during the regular season is this:

WILL GRAVES BE ABLE TO RESIGN AND HOLD ON TO PLAYERS LIKE JOHNSON, BOLDIN, PACE ect... when there contracts run out and they play well and we stop being the NFL's farm system. That is the most important question, the only question to those who really know what has been destroying this organization. It would be so nice to see Pace become a stud and the Cards resign him or even better resign him before the conract runs out. That is when the team really turns the corner. Won a playoff game but coudn't keep Centers or Miller... hence we DID NOT turn the corner with a playoff win. Couldn't keep A.Williams and Boston (but the reasons on this one still has us arguing).

Subtle keepings like Metcalf would have helped too. No Metcalf, no return to the 50 for us to have a chance to beat the Chargers in '98 to make the playoffs.

Retaining players is the problem for me over my entire Cardinal fan tenure since the seventies. Screw this draft, and yes it is very possible we got screwed. Extending Shelton and Vandenbosch's contracts NOW would make me giddy because that is our main problem.

Free-agent signings are not the problem because I seen them do it heavy in the eighties at times, KEEP THE GOOD PLAYERS and stop taking step backwards when you are on your way going forward... we drop the ball ALWAYS ON THAT. Here is another one : O.J.ANDERSON AND THE SUPERBOWL GIANTS!!!

DAMN I GET IT, ALL THE FANS THAT GO WAY BACK CAN FEEL ME TOO!
