The Mark Sanchez criminal trial as once again been delayed.
Via Jarrett Lewis of WIBC, the trial date has been pushed from July 13 to September 8, one day before the start of the 2026 NFL regular season.
It's the fifth time the trial has been continued. The final pre-trial conference had been set for today, July 8.
Eventually, the trial will happen. (We think.) Barring a plea deal, Sanchez will stand trial on multiple charges arising from an October 2025 alley fight with Perry Tole, a 69-year-old truck driver.
Sanchez had been in town to call a Raiders-Colts game on October 5. Fox later parted ways with Sanchez.
Tole stabbed Sanchez multiple times. The authorities accepted Tole's version of the events, concluding he acted in self-defense; Sanchez told police he remembered nothing.
Charged with felony battery, Sanchez faces up to six years in prison, if convicted. Tole also has a civil lawsuit pending against Sanchez, Fox, and the company that owns St. Elmo's.
