I don't know that I have ever seen a better half time show.

I agree...and the stage and fireworks were awsome. It was really refreshing to not see all the hip-hop of the last few years and of course the lousy entertainers. Paul is really a good entertainer.

Clif, if you don't like Paul McCartneys music I can understand.
Production wise, this was an incredible show.
The crew that staged this had eight minurtes to set it up right and eight minutes to strike it and make the field usable again for football.
Trust me, that is an incredible feat.
The show looked great, especially when you factor in the time constraints.

Best halftime show I've ever seen. Also best redition of the star spangled banner in a very long time.

I agree about the star spangled banner, that's the way it should be done, not some pop star trying to further their career.

I thought McCartney sounded great, not lip synching either. I was hoping the girl from the black eyed peas was going to have a wardrobe malfunction.

dont disagree with any of that, but someone just irked me when they were pretty much equating hip hop with automatically meaning a bad show. Who knows maybe I am reading too much into it but I am pretty ticked that paul mccartney was the entire show. They could have mixed in some other artists to mix it up and not have it be one lame act.

I was also amazed at how they managed that. That stage with the pictures flashing down the 4 runways was amazing. I can't figure out how they managed setting something like that up in 8 minutes.

I not a big Paul McCartney fan, but at least it was honest to God real music instead of loud noise, lyrics that you can't hear and head bobbing.

The four runways as well as the center portion of the stage were all LED surfaces. Each one required their own media server. The media servers were Catalyst from High End Systems.
Roy Bennet was the designer. A legend in the lighting and production world.
As I said earlier, a big thumbs up to all involved.

Paul McCartney= GOoD....He/The Beatles have been music icons for 41 years...even in his early 60's he can rock the crowd like he did in his twenties...it was definitly the highlight of my night. I can't wait for his fall tour...I just hope to God it comes to Phoenix.

And this is coming from a person in his early 20s.

A great appreciation for great music :D

Sorry

I'm a huge Beatles fan (first album I ever got was the White Album) but that concert was a force feed of fake happy happy joy joy. Live and let die and Hey, Jude saved it but the rest was just like...boring. Own a lot of his solo work too, but there is a point when a rock star starts to age to a certain degree and its like he is trying to be cool when it comes across as fake. Paul is one of the greatest musicians of all time or ever will be but the Superbowl bowl show just felt outplace. I will say this, it was still better than the crap they did last year.

When was this halftime show

At the end of the 2nd qtr, my son took control of the TV, and played Vice City....

Then, his game was over when the 3rd qtr was about to start :D

Yep. That's music that will continue to live on. And Paul was an excellent choice after last year's "I'll do anything to save my fading career" show.
I collect concert videos and if you liked the music at half time check out McCartney's "Back in the US" tour on DVD. Paul wanted to do something for the US after September 11 so he toured the US and it was recordered from the start on the east to the finish in LA.
What really stands out is the crowd. The young to the older intermixed.

It was no "Up with People" but it was a good show. A hundred times better than last year's debacle. It's amazing that you can actually entertain people without grabbing your crotch.

I rarely watch the halftime show and after I heard the first song I didn't really pay attention, he's just not my type of music but I guess their primary concern was picking someone who wouldn't embarass them.

I thought sir paul mccartney show was good and how he got the whole stadium involved. The fake lighters kinda cracked me up and not lip synching is always a bonus.

I thought the halftime show was very good. I like Paul McCartney and was happy to see someone just do their thing without trying too hard.

The anthem was awesome. It should be done like that every year!
