Michal Postava continued to insert himself in the Detroit Red Wings’ goalie-of-the-future contest by posting a record-breaking fourth shutout of the season in an 8-0 win over the Milwaukee Admirals.
He is the first goalie in the Griffins’ 30-year history to generate four shutouts in his rookie season.
After his 24-save performance, Postava boasts an 17-6 record with a 1.71 goals-against average and .937 save percentage.
Amadeus Lombardi, Anton Johansson, William Wallinder, Eduards Tralmaks, Erik Gustafsson, John Leonard scored goals for Grand Rapids (51-15-4-1). Jakub Rychlovsky scored twice.
This win established a new record of 27 road wins for the Griffins.
