Not many teams have cap room to absorb GA's contract. Chicago is one of them, and we are interested in Giddey.

It's likely pie in the sky, but it's still nice to dream.

I would be thrilled about a trade for Giddey. If the Suns were only that resourceful and farsighted.

Mark Williams has the body of a 48 year old. Anything beyond a one year deal would be tossing cash into the fireplace.
And the entire league knows this. Who is going to want MW and pay big money for him. Mark’s deal is going to be fairly cheap.

Good signing, but we can’t keep all those guards—Book, Green, CG, Grayson, Bouyea, and The Mask.

Unless one of them is now a SF.

Would you rather have giddy over Jalen green? Not me.
Well, ideally I would rather have Giddy (and a bunch of other assets) over Booker. But the Suns apparently have different ideas.

Giddey is not a franchise player. Bulls would be willing to trade him to build a complementary roster around one or two franchise type players. Their #4 pick may be one and Morant may be another, once reunited with his buddy Brooks. So, my proposal is a 3-team trade with Morant and Brooks going to Bulls, Giddey to Suns, and GAllen+JSmith+Dillingham to Grizzs, plus some picks. With Giddey at 3 next to Booker and Green, our starting 5 would be more balanced.

Really wish there were an option year or some unguaranteed money since Collin is already 27. I can see this deal being a negative in year 4 as is.

I think it is a fair contract, but as we previously discussed, it didn't have to be this way. The Suns can't afford to be reactive instead of proactive.

It may be fair but I also thought Royce and Grayson signed fair deals. What is fair today is overpriced tomorrow. I hope it doesn't come to that. I'd feel better if Collin was younger. Knowing he'll be on the other side of 30 for the final year is slightly troubling.

Being on the other side of 30 for one season is not a bad thing. And the Suns got him on the cheap as a free agent.

Plus he was out a whole year in Denver due to injury, so his mileage is less than we think.

This should be prime CG time, he's peaking at the right time - age and career wise.

CG was the #9 defensive pg in the league last year based upon Drtg. That was behind Shai, Cade, Sheppard, Castle, Fox, Doncic, Ball and Quickley.

Its is just an odd advanced stat, but it is interesting.

I think starting CG might be a better option for the Suns this year and bring Green off the bench with starters minutes. We will see how the Book/Green pairing goes first I suppose.
