The beef between Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi is about more than 2006 World Cup Finals Headbutt Heard Round the World (it actually produced a very similar sound to beef hitting the frying pan. Thud and sizzle. [the chef threw the beef onto the pan very roughly, he’s busy, it’s the dinner rush]).

Fattening up this beef is the before-and-after of the headbutt. Something had to be said to elicit the headbutt. And then there’s the fall out. My god the fall out. Did you know Zidane never apologized and Materazzi published a joke book of potential headbutt-eliciting insults?

Oh and there was a World Cup on the line, that’s important too! It’s World Cup beef time.
