celtics lost a game to the magic - i think they lose more than one to the knicks - i don't see them beating the cavs who have home court

he didn't say him by name but insiders think JJ Redick was clearly talking about Luka when he said the key to next season is them being in better shape. Said some guys were in great shape, others not so much. One of the criticisms and given reasons for Dallas trading Luka was his weight, insiders said his diet after going to LA was horrible and as good as he is on offense they felt his biggest issue on defense is he's so slow now because of his weight. I would personally add I just don't think he tries very hard on defense

Hadn't seen this one before, Dillon Brooks admitted he's trying to hit Curry in the injured thumb.

Dillon Brooks, who was accused of targeting Stephen Curry’s injured thumb during the game, didn’t deny the tactic. Instead, he defended it. “If someone had an injured ankle, I’d go after that,” he said bluntly postgame. Brooks’ unapologetic approach only added fuel to Kerr’s criticism of current rules. He compared Brooks’ behavior to the gritty Detroit Pistons of the 1990s—and made it clear he believes the NBA must act. Still, Kerr admitted that any rule change must pass through the competition committee, leaving coaches stuck for now.

Heard his comments on the radio yesterday. Brooks also said if he had an injured foot he'd expect someone to go after it. It is currently within the rules, so why not?

Because it's garbage. Just play the game, don't try and injure someone who's already playing hurt.

The irony after game 5 Butler said he thought the reason Brooks fouled him on the 3 pointer is Brooks was trying to hit him where his injury was. That Brooks had tried several times earlier in the game and that he thought Dillon tried to do it again and wound up fouling him which basically cost them that game

What Steph said was simple, if it's a foul, call the foul. I'm not asking for special treatment, I'm not asking them to create a rule just for me, but the way certain people close out, he didn't say Brooks by name, it's clear what they're trying to do. If it's a foul call the foul.

I have no problem with playing Steph physically on the ball, he's had a ton of turnovers in this series getting ripped several times by Thompson or VanVleet, he just doesn't have the same level of handle he normally does because of the thumb and it makes perfect sense to go after that. But they're not doing it trying to injure him they're trying to turn him over, that's actually a basketball play, trying to hit his thumb isn't.

Matt Barnes said on his show he would "slap the bleep" out of Brooks if he was playing in the game. He said you can see him grabbing at the thumb all game long, trying to hit it on screens, he said he's actually surprised someone on the Warriors hasn't decked Brooks

I agree. Where the funk is Draymond. He should have decked Dilldo Brooks by now. Same with crazy Jimmy.

I guess the NBA is heading back to the days they will need an enforcer on the team to deal with players that hit below the belt.

They should have traded for Isiah Stewart and turned him loose on Dillon.

for me the key to the series is can the Warriors figure out the Houston zone, especially with Adams in the game. Most zones the weakness is 3 point shots and offensive rebounding. Houston is so long they're really bothering the Warriors 3 point shots in the zone, and they're so much bigger with Adams in the Warriors can't get a 2nd shot.
The 2 obvious guys are Butler or Draymond my guess is they will put those 2 in one at the high post one in the dunkers spot.

I also fully expect Moses Moody to start tonight, he was one of the lone brightspots in the last game.

Not that it matters in the whole scheme of things but opening tip they tip the ball to Thompson, he bounces once to get control, 2 more bounces and picks up ball. Turns to handoff to Van Vleet and then instead dribbles upcourt. You could hear the crowd screaming double dribble. I don't get it, it wasn't a get control dribble he bounced it 3 times. It's literally the opening tip there's nothing else to be looking at and yet 3 refs missed it?

warriors look much better tonight still getting killed on the O glass though

So much flopping tonight. Podz twice already. Sengun gets fouled by Curry and goes down like he was hit with a bat. Then on the inbounds Eason flops trying to get a 3rd foul on Steph. Brooks has flopped twice already

Houston in the zone now immediate turnover by Steph, then one by Podz. They gotta figure that zone out it's the key to the game.

I was expecting extra minutes tonight from Steph and Butler but with steph already having 2 fouls it might not happen in the first half.

Anyone see the irony in that last paragraph?

Same thing when Adams is on the floor the Warriors just can't score consistently. And Curry's turnovers are a huge problem. He seems to be heating up a bit now but he's given Houston several points on turnovers
