The Washington Wizards will reportedly consider trading down from the No. 1 pick, per @JakeLFischer “Winger told me directly that the Wizards will at least consider trading down. He insisted that this is ‘not a savior moment’ for Washington given that the franchise just traded for two former All-Stars in Trae Young and Anthony Davis on top of the slew of recent lottery picks it already has accumulated. He added that, in accordance with Wizards general manager Will Dawkins' prospect evaluations, Washington will not rule out a move downward if Dawkins determines there are two or three players that the Wizards are eager to come away with.”(Via https://open.substack.com/pub/marcstein/p/behind-closed-door-scenes-sounds?r=3shtjf&utm_medium=ios)

I know it's a workout but at least 3 of those 3's from the corners he stepped out of bounds?

he's freaky though saw him early in the year for UNC, he's just as athletic as Dybantsa but bigger. Has a bit of young Garnett to him although I don't think he's THAT good.

Dybantsa is intriguing. There was a lot of talk in Sacramento that if they won the lottery they were NOT going to pick Dybantsa because they thought he'd pull an Eli Manning and refuse to sign. Apparently there's a few teams his team has hinted don't take him I assume Washington is one of them too

it’s all about potential with him. If he can hit open 3 he’s Jaden McDaniels.

Meanwhile Koa tanking his draft stock. Came in at 6’7” and bricked the shooting drills.

That's why I always thought Peat was the perfect college recruit, would be a good college player but undersized 4 not a 3. But it sounds like he's in the draft to stay and certainly had a great year

I remember when shuffling both feet after catching the ball used to be traveling.
I wanted 100% AND Sad emoji. Some guys I see receive the pass, hop over to a side with both feet, and then step or move their feet to line up for the shot, all without dribbling, and usually with the sideline ref standing right by them.

Darryn Peterson’s representation is telling teams at the NBA Combine he views himself as a point guard, per
@ShamsCharania
.

This is notable as it relates to potential fits with the Wizards (Trae Young) and Jazz (Keyonte George).

Peterson has an ideal landing spot in Utah. George is ok but he's not a franchise PG. I believe Peterson will be. A lineup of Peterson, Ace Bailey, Lauri, JJJ, and Kessler is huge 1-5 and a nice mix of offense and defense.

Peterson IMO is the most NBA ready of the top guys but also the scariest because of the whole sitting out stuff at Kansas. I know he says it was creatine and blames the Kansas trainers but you have to make sure you're convinced.

I expect Utah to significantly improve next year... which isn't really good news for the Suns since I don't really see the Suns improving (barring some unexpected off season move). Portland and Utah are both poised to be pushing past us next year.

Yeah the Jazz and Blazers are most likely to improve in the West. I think the Lakers take a step back. The Rockets may falter but they have so many trade pieces I doubt they fall far. The Suns and Warriors are play-in teams that will need some lucky breaks to stay that high. Not exactly an easy path forward next year.

Tankathon mock draft has forward JT Toppin going to the Suns at 47.

Toppin is a 6’7”, 230 lb forward and will be 21 by the time of the draft. Averaged 22-11-2 with 1.4 STL and 1.7 BLK/game at Texas Tech.

Worth a look for the Suns?

If Toppin has proven skills that will translate, sure, why not. Maybe a bit on the small size but what else is new in the valley.
