I don't see how this could happen - with the salary he has, if things don't go well here - nobody is going to give up a 1st rounder for him.

The Phoenix Suns held a pre-draft workout today with former Temple guard Derrian Ford, per league sources. Ford, a four-year college player, is widely regarded as one of the strongest guards in this draft class and made a strong impression on Suns officials in his workout.

I know it's the second round, but now long wings? Even a flier on an international guy?

Both guys are 6'3" and 6'2" respectively. Great....

More and more, it feels like the colleges are a professional sports franchise except they are not owned by an NBA team, like a G-League affiliate.

The Suns do have the 47th pick this year. It could be better but it also could be worse. I'm glad we have a pick, although it likely amounts to nothing.

I'm having a really hard time keeping interest now with NIL, and the transfer portal. UCLA's entire season next year seems to come down to a kid named Tounde Yessefou who's currently in the draft and headed to the combine but is a borderline 1st rounder who might slide to round 2. If he comes back to college it's likely he's coming to UCLA he played HS in LA, then 1 year at Baylor. He's in the portal, hasn't committed to anybody because he wants to stay in the draft, but if he's not a 1st rounder he'll make more at UCLA (or Kentucky etc) than he would as a 2nd rounder or undrafted.

My interest in college sports is waning without the continuity of players. And loyalty to school is being dismantled.

I was always happy when players moved on to the pros like the NBA or NFL but playing for another school because they can offer more money is ruining it for me.

ASU lost a top center in basketball because the number was too high. In more and more cases, major league franchises can't compete with the money offered.

This is professional sports without a CBA.
