Texas Tech softball wins Lubbock Regional, to face Florida for WCWS berth

The Texas Tech softball team finished off another win in the Lubbock Regional and will head to the Super Regionals of the NCAA softball tournament for the second year in a row.

The Red Raiders improved to 55-6 on the season with a 14-2 win over Ole Miss in the Regional final. An eight-run third inning helped break the game open while Jackie Lis drove in five runs for Texas Tech.

Texas Tech will now head to Gainesville to take on No. 6 overall seed Florida in the Super Regionals. The Gators swept their way through the Gainesville Regional, finishing things off with a 5-2 win over Georgia Tech in the final.

Super Regional games are set for May 21-24 at designated campus sites. Exact game dates, times and TV schedules will be announced later.
