Texas Tech sophomore Christian Anderson Jr. is reportedly remaining in the 2026 NBA draft and forgoing his remaining college eligibility, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
Anderson was a third-team All-American, averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals while shooting 41.5% from 3-point range in 33 games. He ranked fifth in the country in total assists (244) and 11th in minutes (1,266).
The 6-foot-2 point guard set the Red Raiders' single-season program record for assists, while he knocked down the second-most 3s (108). He was one of five players in the country to register eight or more 10-assist games last season.
Anderson initially declared for the draft on April 7 while maintaining his remaining college eligibility. He opted to remain in consideration after receiving a projected draft range of 15-20 from team executives at the combine earlier this month in Chicago, Illinois.
The 20-year-old was one of the top performers in the Windy City, going 27-for-30 in the off-the-dribble and 17-for-25 in the 3-point star shooting drills. He also registered the eighth-highest max vertical jump among all participants (40 1/2 inches).
Anderson will have the opportunity to improve his stock in team workouts and interviews. He visited the Detroit Pistons on Monday and has additional stops scheduled before the two-night draft on June 23-24 in Brooklyn, New York.
