Another San Antonio high school has found its next head football coach and athletic director.
San Antonio ISD has named Rashard Colquitt the new head football coach and AD at Sam Houston High. Colquitt has been the offensive coordinator at Aldine Nimitz in Houston for the last four seasons.
Colquitt will come from a Aldine Nimitz program that’s fresh off an 8-3 season in 2025. The Cougars finished as the No. 270 team in Texas, according to the Rivals Composite Rankings.
“I’m excited to be a part of the San Antonio ISD family,” Colquitt said in a press release. “I look forward to building relationships with everyone in the Sam Houston community, as well as the other coaches in our district.”
Sam Houston went 6-5 last season, but it ended the year on a positive note. The Hurricanes got off to an 0-4 start, then rattled off six wins in a row before bowing out in the first round of the Class 5A Division-II state tournament.
Colquitt’s offense at Nimitz last fall averaged nearly 37 points per game. The Cougars won their final four games of the regular season but also lost in the first round of the playoffs.
In addition to his time at Nimitz, Colquitt has also spent time with Coldspring, Nacogdoches and Port Arthur ISD. Sam Houston will be his first head coaching gig.
