It's an old football cliche, but games are won and lost in the trenches. To that end, Texas took a big step towards fortifying their defensive line moving forward by adding a four-star recruit up front.

USA TODAY Sports reports that the Longhorns received a commitment from Kasi Currie, who selected Texas over the likes of Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon.

Currie is a massive presence, as the 6-foot-4, 315-pound defender has a chance to command double teams at the next level if he realizes his potential.

He's actually played some offense at Sierra Canyon High School, where he's spent some time as a right tackle.

Currie is following in the footsteps of former high school teammate Richard Wesley, a five-star defensive end who signed with Texas for the 2026 class.
