The Texas A&M Aggies have gotten off to a fast start with their 2027 recruiting class, with nine four-stars already committing to head coach Mike Elko's program. Six of which are on the defensive side of the ball, which got significantly stronger on Tuesday with the commitment of five-star EDGE Zyron Forstall. Forstall announced the news on social media, with the caption "I'm HOME!!!"
Several other elite programs were in the running for Forstall, such as the Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. But after visiting Texas A&M this weekend, the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder decided to commit to the Aggies.
Forstall is the No. 5 EDGE and No. 42 player overall in the 2027 class, per 247Sports Composite. He competes for IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, where he's the fifth-ranked player in the talented-loaded state.
In eight games as a junior, Forstall amassed 28 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and four quarterback hurries. With his impressive combination of speed and elasticity with his 6-foot-4 frame, the now-Aggies commit established himself as one of the elite 2027 pass rushing prospects — though he does stand to add mass to his frame to be able to withstand the elite college football physicality.
The addition of Forstall is just another compliment to a tremendous 2027 recruiting class for Elko and his staff, as they now have the second-ranked class, per 247 Sports. They're loaded on the defensive side of the ball, potentially portraying years of dominant Aggies defense to come.
