Texas A&M's graduate forward, who has recorded 12 double-doubles this season for the Aggies, earned All-SEC honors for his outstanding dominance on the hardwood.
At 6-foot-8, 231 pounds, Rashaun Agee has helped anchor the first year of 'Bucky Ball' in Bryan-College Station. Entering the SEC Tournament this week, Agee is averaging 14.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest, with his season-high 26 points coming in Texas A&M's triple-overtime thriller against LSU on Saturday.
Agee has become one of the most exciting hoopers to watch in the conference, with a gritty and explosive demeanor that has become contagious in the Aggie locker room. Averaging 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds in SEC play, Agee was named a member of the All-SEC Third Team on Monday afternoon.
The Chicago, Illinois, native is the heartbeat of the program that has earned Texas A&M a first-round bye in the league tournament and likely secured a spot in March Madness. Agee's incredible performances, especially with establishing physicality in the paint, have placed him No. 2 in the SEC with 274 total rebounds and an average of 8.8 per appearance in his graduate campaign.
He began his collegiate basketball career at Casper College in Wyoming, where he averaged a double-double, before transferring to Bowling Green. After spending two seasons with the Falcons, he played in 34 games and averaged 9.4 points and 4.5 rebounds for the USC Trojans in his senior season. When head coach Bucky McMillan took over in College Station, Agee transferred to Texas A&M and immediately set a standard of what to expect from this new era of basketball in College Station.
With plenty of basketball left to play in the postseason, their dominant forward will be a key to the team's success. In the best season of his career, Agee has proven to be one of the most dominant players at the position in the country.
