What's the right move for the Houston Texans when it comes to drafting a player in the first round at pick No. 28?

Is it offensive tackle?

Is it a guard?

Is it on the defensive side?

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah recently released his mock draft 3.0 following the first wave of free agency entering the week. Hoping to shore up the right side of the offensive line long-term, Jeremiah has Houston finding stability on the interior of the line with Texas A&M All-SEC guard Chase Bisontis coming off the board at pick No. 28.

"There are a lot of similarly graded interior offensive linemen that I have in the second-round range," Jeremiah wrote. "I have a feeling one of them is going to climb into Round 1. In this case, Houston stays in state to add Bisontis."

Adding Bisontis would bring a solid overall balanced playmaker to the roster and serve as a future play on shoring up the trenches. After Houston inked three-time Pro Bowl lineman Wyatt Teller to a two-year deal on Tuesday, focus shifted from adding a Day 1 starter to more of an option with upside.

Enter Bisontis, a two-year starter for Texas A&M who excels in run blocking with an upside in pass protection. A no-nonsense old-school mentality-type lineman, Bisontis is a consistent attacker who relies on strong hands and good technique to win his battles in run blocking. He's a work in progress in other areas and his protection could use a bit of work, but he's a project with potential to be a starter midseason if not by 2027.

There's not a lot of flash to his game, but Bisontis is expected to be a stable option that should be a staple for interior offensive line play for years to come. It's not the only move Houston can make to fix the offensive line, but it's a step in a direction that should give more promise entering 2026.
