The Tennessee Titans are taking a much-deserved break from practice on Wednesday, and players are regrouping after two days in pads.
The Titans have had a solid opening to training camp, and quarterback Cam Ward is leading the way. The second-year signal-caller has demonstrated the growth many were looking for during the offseason, and the offense has flashed the potential to be dangerous.
One player who is not surprised by this jump is star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, who told Ryan Clark on the Pivot Podcast that he believes in Ward and that Ward puts in the work to be great.
“I told Cam today, you, this is your team. When you talk and demand something on the field, off the field, we listen," he said.
Throughout his short career, Ward has been known as a hard worker and a leader, something that Simmons reiterated in this interview. He hasn’t been the only one at training camp talking about it, after both head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll have pointed out different aspects of Ward’s desire and work ethic. Now, Ward needs to take that step forward in 2026 and help the Titans take a step forward.
