Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and his staff have done everything possible to make sure they land priority target David Gabriel Georges. The Volunteers have exhausted nearly every recruiting pitch available, from detailed workout plans to highlighting the impact of former Tennessee star Alvin Kamara.

Heupel understands how important it would be to secure a commitment from DGG. The good news for Tennessee is that, if he does commit, the expectation is that he will be with the program for three years.

“He’s expected to be in the $1 million range, shy of $2 million,” On3’s Pete Nakos wrote. “It will be a multi-year deal, that’s something the family has talked about. The family is very clear that it wants a multi-year deal, so they have a roadmap for his entire career.”

Just last week, there was a major surprise when a member of Gabriel Georges’ family reportedly revealed that the five-star running back had already made a decision regarding his future.

“According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, David Gabriel Georges has already made his decision. While the five-star running back is not scheduled to announce his commitment until July 22, the Baylor School standout reportedly knows where he will be continuing his football career,” All For Tennessee’s Conner Linsner wrote.

The entire college football world was sent into a frenzy when reports of DGG potentially making a silent commitment became public. However, the five-star running back recently revealed that he is still torn between two programs.

“It’s hard. You feel this way, like you know, and then it’s sort of 50-50. People will say the 22nd of July is far off, but honestly for me, it’s pretty close,” Gabriel Georges told On3’s Chris Low.

There is no doubt this recruitment will come down to the wire for the most coveted running back in the entire class. DGG is already considered a rare talent, and Tennessee is hoping it can bring him into the program.

The Volunteers are relying heavily on the strong relationships they have built with Georges and his family, especially his connection with strength and conditioning coach Derek Owings. While Tennessee’s top target remains split on his decision, Heupel hopes the Vols will ultimately have the opportunity to welcome Gabriel Georges to Knoxville.
