A member of Tennessee's 2025-26 basketball roster committed to a Big Ten school in the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday.

Former Tennessee forward J.P. Estrella committed to Michigan, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.

The 6-foot-11, 241-pound forward is from Scarborough, Maine. He was a four-star prospect in Tennessee's 2023 signing class. Estrella appeared in 25 games during his freshman season, averaging five minutes per game.

He appeared in three games in his sophomore season and underwent season-ending surgery for a foot stress fracture in Dec. 2024. In his final season at Tennessee, Estrella averaged 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Three players from Tennessee's 2025-26 roster are graduating: point guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie, shooting guard Amaree Abram and center Felix Okpara. Tennessee has three commitments in its 2026 basketball recruiting class: small forward Ralph Scott, power forward Manny Green and point guard Marquis Clark.

Four other players have entered the portal from Tennessee’s 2025-2026 roster: power forward Cade Phillips, combo guard Clarence Massamba, combo guard Bishop Boswell, power forward Jaylen Carey and small forward Amari Evans.

Former Belmont shooting guard Tyler Lundblade committed to the Vols on April 1.
