Tennessee pitcher Cam Appenzeller earned Freshman All-America honors from Perfect Game on Thursday. He was named to the second team as a relief pitcher.
Appenzeller is the 28th Tennessee baseball player in program history to earn Freshman All-America status.
The 6-foot-5, 195-pound left-handed pitcher appeared in 20 games, including two starts, for the Vols in 2026. He recorded 64 strikeouts, one save and a 4.76 ERA in 56.2 innings. The Chatham, Illinois native earned a victory against South Carolina in the SEC Tournament.
Appenzeller (6-1) also received an invitation to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer.
He is the 21st Tennessee player and seventh pitcher to be associated with the Collegiate National Team, joining Todd Helton, R.A. Dickey, Chris Burke, Luke Hochevar, Drew Gilbert, Drew Beam, Christian Moore and others.
Tennessee's 2026 baseball season ended in the NCAA Tournament Chapel Hill Regional.
