Tennessee baseball received a commitment from Northwestern State transfer pitcher Brody Trosclair on June 8.

Trosclair is a rising sophomore who announced his commitment on social media after visiting Tennessee on June 7. He also visited LSU and Arkansas.

He is the the second transfer to commit to coach Josh Elander and Tennessee this cycle after Mercer two-way player Braydon Kersey committed on June 6. Both Trosclair and Kersey will join a Tennessee pitching staff led by new pitching coach Austin Knight, who was hired from East Carolina after the Vols moved on from Josh Reynolds after one season.

The staff will have a different look to it after losing starting pitchers Tegan Kuhns to the MLB draft and Evan Blanco to exhausted eligibility. Relievers Taylor Tracey and Brayden Krenzel entered the transfer portal, as did freshman pitcher Ari Bethea.

The left-handed Trosclair was the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year and was named to the all-conference first team after finishing with a 5-1 record and 1.89 ERA in 10 appearances with four starts. He had 55 strikeouts and 11 walks in 38 innings before an arm injury ended his season in early April.
