Tennessee baseball’s 2026 recruiting class is one of the best in the country.

What the Vols' 19-player class, ranked by Perfect Game as the third-best nationally, looks like when fall arrives will be different, though. Tennessee’s top signees will navigate the MLB draft process in July and decide whether they intend to go pro.

Last year’s draft was a strong one for high school prospects, with 19 taken in the first 43 picks. Only two high school players drafted within the top 200 picks didn’t sign.


Tennessee had a highly ranked class in 2025, too, even after losing three to the first round of the MLB draft. It managed to keep two players that were picked in the late rounds: pitcher Cam Appenzeller and infielder Ethan Moore.

Here is Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class and where its commits stand in recent draft projections:

Jared Grindlinger, OF/LHP,Huntington Beach, California​

Grindlinger, whose brother Trent was a star player for Tennessee this season, is projected by both ESPN and MLB Pipeline to go No. 11 overall in the draft, which has a slot value of $6,133,500.

Trevor Condon, OF, Woodstock, Georgia​

Condon was projected by ESPN and MLB Pipeline to be drafted No. 18 overall by the Cincinnati Reds, which has a slot value of $4,695,500.

Cole Koeninger, SS/RHP, Keller, Texas​

Koeninger ranks No. 14 by Perfect Game but isn’t considered quite as lofty an MLB draft prospect, ranked No. 74 by Baseball America, No. 84 by ESPN and No. 98 by MLB Pipeline.

Sean Dunlap, C, Crown Point, Indiana​

Most consider Dunlap a fourth- or fifth-round target, but ESPN mentioned him as a candidate to slide into an earlier round.

Kaiden McCarthy, RHP, Chester, Vermont​

McCarthy has a chance to become the first player from Vermont drafted within the first three rounds as a consensus top-80 prospect.

Gary Morse, RHP, Bellflower, California​

ESPN is highest on Morse as the No. 92 prospect in the draft, while MLB Pipeline (No. 137) and Baseball America (No. 140) gave him a fifth-round grade.

Jack Dugan, SS, Nashville ​

Dugan is ranked as the No. 106 draft prospect by MLB Pipeline and No. 149 by ESPN.

Gannon Grant, RHP, Greenwood, Indiana​

Grant is ranked the 86th player by Perfect Game while Baseball America has him at No. 120.

Tyler Putnam, RHP, Columbia, Missouri​

MLB Pipeline ranks Putnam as the No. 134 prospect and Baseball America has him at No. 177.

Cody Boshell, 1B/LHP, Saint Johns, Florida​

Boshell is ESPN’s No. 155 prospect and Baseball America’s No. 274 player.

Shawn Sullivan, RHP, Barberton, Ohio​

Sullivan was ranked as Baseball America’s No. 220 draft prospect. Perfect Game ranked him as the No. 79 player.

AJ Curry, 1B, San Diego, California​

Curry is ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 40 player but was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 278 prospect.

Jaxson Wood, SS, Hoover, Alabama​

Wood is Perfect Game’s No. 59 player and No. 397 for Baseball America.

Cade Allen, RHP, Humboldt ​

Allen is ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 129 player.

Cooper Shrum, RHP, Belton, Missouri​

Shrum came in at No. 133 by Perfect Game.

Michael Teasley, 3B, Oak Ridge ​

Teasley is Perfect Game’s No. 149 player.

Colt Springall, 2B, Brentwood ​

Springall came in at No. 163 by Perfect Game.

Drew Christine, LHP, Olney, Maryland​

Christine is the No. 386 player by Perfect Game.

Kai Bratton, RHP, Westminster, California​

Bratton was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 500 player.
