The MLB draft is taking place Saturday with the first four rounds at Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Former Tennessee baseball pitcher Tegan Kuhns was selected by St. Louis in the first round (No. 32 overall).

The 6-foot-3, 193-pound right-handed pitcher appeared in 30 games, including 24 starts, for the Vols from 2025-26 under head coaches Josh Elander and Tony Vitello.

Kuhns (7-9) recorded 146 strikeouts, one complete game, one shutout and a 4.13 ERA in 117.2 innings for the Vols. He was named to the 2026 All-SEC second team and earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors two times.

Kuhns earned 2026 All-SEC Second Team honors after recording career highs in wins (five), innings pitched (81.0) and strikeouts (106) during his sophomore season.

In 2025, he had a 5-5 record, 106 strikeouts and a 3.56 ERA in 81 innings.

He is from Gettysburg Area High School in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Kuhns was a two-time First Team Mid-Penn Keystone Division Selection.
