It's time to find the second class to enter the Taunton High Athletic Hall of Fame.

Nominations for the Hall of Fame's Class of 2025 are open now through May 31 and, as with last year, are divided into five categories: student-athlete, team, coach, administrator and contributor. After receiving nominations, the Hall of Fame Committee will go through all and pick the next class to be enshrined, with all nominees who missed out being eligible for induction for the next five years.

To be considered, the Hall of Fame says nominees must reflect the core values of Taunton High Athletics: sportsmanship, leadership, integrity and commitment.

Here's how you can nominate your favorite former Tigers for their chance to be enshrined in the halls of the Rabouin Field House.

How do I fill out a nomination?

Nomination forms for all five categories can be found on the Hall of Fame website, thshalloffame.org, and can be downloaded and/or printed to fill out. Only nomination forms that are filled out completely will be considered by the committee.

Nominators are asked to provide the name, graduation year (for student-athletes only) and contact information for each individual nominee, as well as any relevant information for the committee to consider. For teams, players and their positions are asked as well as any relevant accomplishments by the team, such as league and state titles and school records, while for coaches, the team(s) they coached and their accomplishments are asked. Nominators are also asked to provide their name, contact information and relationship to the nominee.

Forms can be filled out digitally or on paper and must be submitted by either email ([email protected]) or mailed to the high school (50 Williams Street Taunton, MA 02780), addressed to the THS Hall of Fame c/o Athletic Office, by May 31.

Who is eligble?

In order to be considered, student-athletes, coaches and administrators must have graduated or retired during or before the 2019-20 school year, while teams must have competed during or before that year as well due to the five year waiting period. Contributors do not have a waiting period, and nomination in that category is eligible to any non-athlete or coach who has made "outstanding contributions to Taunton High School Athletics through athletic service or volunteer activities over several years."

For student-athletes, the nominee must have graduated from Taunton High and completed at least two seasons of varsity-level athletics for the Tigers. Outstanding individual performances, reflected by stats, awards and school records, as well as their contributions to their respective team(s) overall success during their tenure will play into the decision.

For teams, winning either a league, sectional or state championship are needed, while undefeated seasons, program firsts and overall records set by that group will play into the equation. Coaches must have coached multiple years at the varsity level to be considered, in addition to success, while administrators will be considered on their overall impact on improving facilities and opportunities for Taunton High athletics.
