Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall made four-star QB David Davidson a priority and he’s showing why at the Elite 11 Finals.
The Florida Gators struck gold when they landed a commitment from four-star quarterback Davin Davidson. After chasing five-star Alabama Crimson Tide commit Elijah Haven for most of the process, they quickly turned their attention to Davidson, and his profile is fascinating.
He is one of the finalists at the Elite 11 camp, and just completed his second day of competition.

Davin Davidson shines at Elite 11 Finals
Out of Sarasota, Florida, Davidson is the No. 113 overall recruit and the No. 9 overall quarterback. He had a solid showing, completing 80% of his passes. Rivals’ Charles Power is there, breaking down the event in Los Angeles, featuring 20 of the top quarterback recruits in the nation.
Florida four-star commit Davin Davidson is up next and the Sunshine State gunslinger was on target with 16 of his 20 throws. He got off to a 5-for-5 start then maneuvered through some misses throughout the rest of his turn.

It was less about what he didn’t do, and more about what he did. He was the first quarterback to hit the crossbar, which is a competition within the event they have.

Showing out at the Elite 11 Finals is a great sign for the Gators commit, who could end up being a factor early on in his career with the Gators.
