As the Denver Broncos continue working the phones during 2026 NFL free agency, one of their biggest signings of 2025 — safety Talanoa Hufanga — is eager to build on his first season in Denver.
“Honestly, it was just a great season," Hufanga said after the 2025 season concluded in the AFC Championship. "First and foremost, I’m so proud of this team. Just to come in as a new guy, free agent, being able to come to a team that’s just so close. We battled."
Hufanga, 26, earned a second-team All-Pro nod last fall after totaling 106 tackles, 11 pass breakups, two sacks and one forced fumble in his first season with the Broncos. The team's Super Bowl bid fell short last campaign, but he's proud of what they accomplished in his first year.
“To me, I can’t be frustrated that our season’s over," the safety said. "It’s done. We learn from it, we move on, and we get to this next season. Like I said, I’m just proud of this team. Like to come to the AFC Championship, and you know, we’ve been written off a long time ago. So for us to power through that as a team, this culture is building and proud to be a part of it.”
Denver lost to New England in the AFC title game by just three points despite missing starting quarterback Bo Nix, who was sidelined with a broken ankle. Nix is now on the mend, and he and his teammates will look to finish the job in 2026 after falling just short of a Super Bowl berth last season.
