Michigan football held its annual spring game on Saturday, but the fans who didn't trek to Ann Arbor to see it in person have to wait until Sunday to see it.
Big Ten Network will be airing the game on tape delay on Sunday at 11 a.m. EDT, but WolverinesWire was on the scene to see everything that the Maize and Blue teams had to offer. Though Bryce Underwood didn't necessarily light things up statistically, there was a lot to like about the true freshman quarterback. And even more to like about the defense.
We caught up after the game with Local 4 sports reporter Joel Sebastianelli to discuss what we saw and broke down the Blue team's 17-0 win over the Maize team -- with eyes on the season to come.
Keeping in mind that it was a split-squad setup, some of the struggles -- including Underwood's 12-for-26 statline -- don't faze us that much. Whether the Wolverines bolster the roster through the transfer portal -- beyond the two running backs added this past week -- remains to be seen.
Now that spring ball is over, all eyes turn to fall camp, which will begin in August with the season opener against New Mexico coming on the 30th of that month.
