Long-serving Bristol City midfielder Mark Sykes is one of three players who will be leaving the club after new boss Michael Skubala took charge.

Republic of Ireland international Sykes, Sam Morsy and Harry Cornick were all out of contract.

When the club announced their retained list last month, it indicated their futures would be decided after a new head coach was appointed.

Sykes, 28, scored 18 goals in 153 appearances for the club, while experienced Egypt international Morsy, 34, played 20 times in all competitions after agreeing a short-term deal in January.

Cornick, 31, scored five goals in 68 appearances and spent the second half of last season on loan at Stevenage.

"Everyone at Bristol City would like to thank Mark, Harry and Sam for their effort and commitment while they have been at the club," sporting director James Ellis said.

"We will follow each of their careers closely and wish them and their families the very best of luck for the future."

No decision has yet been announced on the future of Sam Bell, who was also out of contract and awaiting news on a new deal.
