Swiss club steps up move for Samuel Essende
As the Swiss transfer window nears its close, BSC Young Boys could be on the verge of finalizing the signing of Samuel Essende.
The 27-year-old Congolese striker is currently on the books at FC Augsburg, where he has played since 2024. However, with increased competition—especially following the arrival of Michael Gregoritsch—his role has diminished in recent weeks. Although Essende is under contract in Germany until 2028, a change of scenery could be on the cards.
He has eight goals in 44 Bundesliga appearances. Meanwhile, the Bernese club is still considering a possible departure of Sergio Córdova. The coming hours promise to be decisive for the Swiss champions.
