The Seattle Seahawks are in the Super Bowl for the first time in over a decade. We started this special 50th anniversary season with some on-site training camp coverage during the Seahawks Fan Fest weekend at Lumen Field, and now we’ll wrap things up with an even greater trip.
Yours truly is literally in a plane right now heading to the San Francisco Bay Area to cover Super Bowl 60 as part of SB Nation’s NFL team. I’ll be joining Jeanna Kelley (SB Nation NFL Director, The Falcoholic), RJ Ochoa (Senior Producer, Blogging the Boys), and David Fucillo (formerly of Niners Nation and now Senior Director of NFL, NBA, & Sports Betting for SB Nation).
I’ve remotely worked the last three Super Bowls for SB Nation, but this year I get to go on location. I’m honored to be a part of the SBN team and it’s a thrill to cover the Seahawks in-person with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.
What’s the plan for Field Gulls Super Bowl coverage?
The staff will continue producing their normal, excellent content and helping out with any major news updates. In terms of my role, the plan is to attend the Wednesday and Thursday Seahawks press conferences way down in San Jose. Whether I get to ask any questions in media scrums is TBD, and whether I can come up with a good question by then is in serious doubt. There will also be days where I’m working on social content for SBN that will also be posted here once it’s ready to roll.
Since I’m working on game day, there may be some adjustments to coverage assignments and post-game write-ups that would otherwise be seamless from the comfort of my own home. I can tell you that if the Seahawks win, Enemy Reaction won’t be done until Tuesday after I fly back. We’ll try to have Winners and Losers and any quick news items up as soon as possible, whether it’s from myself in Santa Clara or other staff writers.
If you’re fortunate enough to be in the Bay Area for Super Bowl week, I hope I can see some of you and have a chat!
Stay tuned for our most exciting week of Seahawks coverage in a long time!
