We have the assets now. 6 2nd rounders can get us something.

I'd prefer Alex Caruso personally but we have zero to trade for him salary wise now. Cam was our 5th highest paid player. Until today.

Looks like we also gave up another pick swap for 2nds somehow and signed Bol.

Eric Gordon is now our 5th highest paid player under contract at 3.2mm this year.

Well..... The depressing part here is that this looks more like a salary dump right now until a corresponding move for a guard takes shape.

With that being said, I'm expecting us to use those 2nd rounders pretty aggressively.

I imagine we are getting a trade exception for Cam Payne for nothing. Orlando has a glut of young point guards. I was hoping we could have nabbed one of them.

Cam and Ish got us to 8.5mm which could have gotten us something tangible. With Cam gone, we really don't have a salary to move right now.

Cole Anthony was the only true shot IMO at 5.5mm.

The Suns are really smart, trading 1st swaps as their picks will likely be pegged at 30 regardless of record do to the 2nd apron rules. Teams with too many young players are offloading 2nds and the Suns are wisely scooping them up.

To a point I agree. It's the only flexibility they have right now and they are capitalizing on it in a big way.

Those swaps after 2026 could be very valuable as we might suck by that time with few options to improve that don't involve trading Book. Obviously it's the price you pay to do what we are doing now, but I think losing Book would be very hard to stomach as a fan of his. Similar to Fitz in many ways.

These are the trade-off's you make when you go all in like we have.

The Suns have to have other plans for a point guard or they are content with what they have.

I've heard Goodwin mentioned as a backup at PG. I'm hoping for a better option but our overall length on defense could be a big asset if we go from Beal & Book to Goodwin and Gordon.

Hopefully, there is another shoe to drop. It seems like they could/should have gotten more for Payne.

They can all play point guard by committee. The Suns are accumulating second round picks for future use or another trade.

It should also be noted, Saban Lee, who is on a two-way contract, can play point guard.

Maybe the 2nd apron completely obliterates this possibility (not familiar), but with so few players having huge contracts on the team, all we need to do is let a couple of those expire and with a wink-wink to re-sign then get the flexibility back. Or maybe time an expiring with a Durant retirement, or something like that. We still have Ayton to move or expire as well.

If we build a winner, as long as Booker is the guy, we can reload.

It's not that we have a bunch of bad long contracts. We just have a few big contracts. I think it's not as dicey. Just a thought.

POINT BOOK BABY!!!!

These are backup point guards so I'm not overly concerned. Beal and Booker are the Suns starters. Gordon can play there as well.

There are some other point guards out there that are unsigned plus G-League candidates and summer league players.
