i still can't believe we got this dude - brace yourself cuz imma bout to say something nice about ish - he traded kd for jalen green - dillon brooks - 5 sweetners and the clear cut highest graded 7 foot center in the draft - that's better than i thought he'd do
You mean Isiah Thomas made the right pick? lol

the more i read about him, the more i love this pick.

And the more I'm confused about the other trade.

but, allready thinking this FO is a disaster, I'm very happy there's a chance they got 1 of the 2 moves right and if they did, that's a big building block for the future.

It's pretty clear they were well down the road to acquire Williams before Maluach dropped. Both moves were good in a vacuum, but when combined are confusing.

I just hope the Suns proactively made the choice to trade for Williams with the knowledge they were getting Maluach and didn't paint themselves into a corner by prematurely agreeing to the deal for Williams before they saw who was available at 10.

Admittedly, I have stopped following the league closely, but I like the Williams acquisition. I don't think there is any conflict between Williams and Maluach. In the incredibly unlikely event that Maluach emerges as a starting-level center, then you have a decision to make, but that's years down the road.

Remember that the Suns passed on Haliburton because they didn't think they had room for him with Chris Paul already on the roster. That was a mistake then, and similar thinking would be a mistake now. Rosters turn over so quickly that, unless you're talking about players on enormous contracts, you can always clear a logjam if one happens to emerge. I am completely unconcerned about the possibility that the Suns may have too many big strong centers.

sure feels that way - like ish didn't like queen or sorber at #10 so he made other arrangements - but he did so before everything played out - he basically thought he could predict the market

who are we kidding? when we start maluach it likely won't be a decision at all - but due to a williams injury

The only thing I can think of is they want to ease this kid into the lineup and they are not happy with Richards?! Maybe they think Richards is backup only material?! Yeah...just seemed really really odd move.

Also, did we not learn anything from Beal? There is a huge question mark if you can rely on Williams. The Suns are desperate to move Beal because his output doesn't match salary. Then you trade for an often injured Williams.

The Suns had been working on the Mark Williams trade before the draft, so I can see why they followed through if it was almost done.

Trades in the NBA are a lot about relationships with other GMs. The Suns and Hornets have some chemistry.

That's not to say the Suns GM didn't show his cards before he should.

Yeah I'm still shocked he was there at 10. Suns finally get a little bit of luck and he dropped to them. Very excited about his potential.

Williams contract is small.

Williams doesn’t have a no trade clause.

And Richard’s is 100% backup only guy.
