Stunning stats highlight Villa's dismal first-half against Spurs

In a remarkable turn of fortune, Tottenham Hotspur have jumped out to a 2-0 lead away to Aston Villa.



Despite being 13 places and 24 points lower in the table, Spurs took a surprising two-goal lead, thanks to a Conor Gallagher strike and a Richarlison header.

However, it's Villa's performance that is perhaps more extraordinary.

The hosts did not register a single shot, cross, or chance created in the first 45 minutes.


In fact, it was the first time Villa failed to take a first-half shot in the Unai Emery era (69 matches played).
