Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has been one of the biggest talking points of the 2025 NFL Draft for a multitude of reasons.
Whether it is his draft room that displayed hundreds of animals on the wall, how much former Super Bowl head coach Jon Gruden loved his game, or his surprising fall in the draft itself, Ewers had plenty of TV time.
Among the conversations was his NIL, and how people on social media would bring up how he could have made $8 million had he stayed at Texas instead of going pro.
Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian talked about Ewers' NIL situation, stating that Ewers did not take any money from the Texas NIL collective.

After the $8 million rumors floating around about what Ewers could have made had he returned, this is a surprising answer to hear from his former head coach.
Ewers went about the NIL route the right way, capitalizing on his true name, image, and likeness instead of taking the Texas NIL collective money, which is how it should always be.
Instead of donors and Texas themselves paying him, he knew his name's worth and made plenty of money that way. This should bode well for him as he continues his journey in the NFL.
While he was a late selection, going in the seventh round to the Miami Dolphins with the No. 231 pick, Ewers has a chip on his shoulder.
As a man who is known for his unwavering faith and passion for what he does, Ewers will thrive in any situation he gets put into.
From being the top recruit in the country going into college, to a late round draft pick, he has the unique opportunity to prove his doubters wrong, while having all of the University of Texas behind him.
