Steve Nash, the two-time NBA MVP and former coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2020 to 2022, is broadening his career in basketball. While he won't be on the court, he'll be courtside as a broadcaster with Amazon Prime's NBA coverage next season.

Sources close to Marc Stein told the NBA insider that Nash will join his former teammate, Dirk Nowitzki, the Hall of Fame legend from the Dallas Mavericks, who played with Nash from 1999 to 2004.

After two seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Nash was traded to the Mavs after the 1998 NBA Draft in exchange for Martin Müürsepp, Bubba Wells, Pat Garrity's draft rights, and a first-round draft pick who would end up being a future teammate, Shawn Marion.

By his third year in the 2000-01 season, Nowitzki earned his first All-NBA distinction as part of the Third Team. The following year, Nash and Nowitzki would make the All-Star team for the first time.

In 2007, Nowitzki would win his lone MVP award, and Nash finished second in voting. The voting spread was a paper-thin margin of just 125 points. No MVP voting differential between first and second has been so close since that year, even with the league significantly reducing the points a recipient can receive.

Amazon also added Stan Van Gundy along with Ian Eagle, who has already been named the streamer's No. 1 play-by-play announcer. Rumors have also linked Richard Jefferson, Kevin Harlan, Michael Grady and Dwyane Wade as potential candidates for positions.
