Stephen Curry’s availability for the 2028 Olympics looks shaky. Health and age being primary reasons. He’s had a recent injury, his knee problems. Reports say analysts expect him to be doubtful for Los Angeles.
On a recent media run, commentators Anthony Slater and Vince Goodwill discussed Curry’s chances.
“Steph Curry, I would be stunned if he plays. He already said he’s highly doubtful. I think he checked that resume box,” Anthony Slater said, adding that Curry has already signaled doubt.
“I think Steph Curry is gonna retire after next year,” Goodwill added.
Still, not everyone counts him out. ESPN’s Marc Spears, per NBC, reported Curry is “still interested” in a second Olympic run, if he can be a real help. That leaves a small door open, but it is a narrow one.
Curry himself has been cautious. On the ‘Mind The Game’ podcast, he said it’s unlikely but not impossible. He spoke about physical limits and choice.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant has expressed a desire to play in 2028 and wants to be a meaningful contributor. Team USA will pick players who can still impact the game.
“Hell yeah, I want to play,” Durant said per The Athletic. “I would love to, but I’ve got to stay on top of my game. I’m not expecting, I want to produce on the floor and make (Hill) and whoever is making the decisions want to put me on the team. I don’t want, not just for seniority. I want to still prove I can help the team win.”
Team USA officials will weigh health, fit, and competitiveness when they decide.
