The NFL world was buzzing when Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson requested a trade days from the 2026 NFL Draft, and one media personality believes the Pittsburgh Steelers need to pounce on the opportunity.

After discussing the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ future in Pittsburgh, reporter Kay Adams urged the Steelers to pull off a big-time trade for Richardson.

“I think it would be smart, a way to not invest too much draft capital, go get Anthony Richardson,” Kay told the Steelers via the Up & Adams Show. “… Chris Ballard confirmed yesterday that Anthony requested a trade. … For a mid- to late-round pick, you can bring a guy into the building who is 23 years old.”

Adams continued to point to one scenario in which Richardson sits behind Rodgers for a year to develop, and another in which Rodgers retires but Mike McCarthy is able to make the most out of Richardson's talents in 2026.

Trading for the Colts' former No. 4 overall pick shouldn't cost the Steelers premium draft capital, which, when considering the historically weak 2026 quarterback class, should make a deal for Richardson even more of a slam dunk.
