The Pittsburgh Steelers are making some huge changes to Acrisure Stadium over the next few years — here's what fans should know.

On Friday, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Adam Babetski reported that the Steelers' Acrisure Stadium will see significant upgrades through 2028 — specifically regarding the 68,400 seats at the venue.

“The Sports and Exhibition Authority, which controls Acrisure Stadium’s lease, on Thursday greenlit just under $6.2 million in capital reserve funds to Steelers affiliate PSSI Stadium LLC for the first phase of the seat-replacement project, during which 22,236 new seats will be installed in the North Shore stadium over the next two years,” Babetski wrote.

With many of the seats outdated and original to the venue, the Steelers also plan to replace 58,719 of Acrisure Stadium’s 68,400 seats by 2028 for a grand total of $17.8 million.

With some significant changes likely to be ready by the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Steelers fans in attendance have some exciting additions to look forward to as the overhaul of Acrisure Stadium begins — marking the next chapter in one of the NFL’s most iconic venues.
