The new era of the Pittsburgh Steelers started when former head coach Mike Tomlin stepped down at the end of the season and he was replaced by new head coach Mike McCarthy. Out is the ultra-conservative, defensive-minded philosophy and in its place we have balance with an emphasis on the offensive side of the football.

By our count, only three starters from 2025 will return in 2026 at the position they played the year before. This is a huge turnover and it really puts the pressure on this unit to perform. With less than a month to the start of training camp, here is our prediction for the Steelers Week One starter, with the caveat that we expect Jaylen Warren to share reps with Rico Dowdle and there's a real chance Max Iheanachor takes over for Dylan Cook at some point in this season.

  • Quarterback - Aaron Rodgers
  • Running back - Rico Dowdle
  • Wide receiver - DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr., Germie Bernard
  • Tight end - Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington
  • Left tackle - Troy Fautanu
  • Left guard - Mason McCormick
  • Center - Zach Frazier
  • Right guard - Spencer Anderson
  • Right tackle - Dylan Cook
