The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts to a one-year deal. Roberts previously played for the Steelers from 2023 to 2024.
In the 2023 season with Pittsburgh, Roberts had a solid year, recording 101 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two pass deflections. His numbers dropped in 2024, as he had 46 total tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble.
Roberts spent the 2025 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he played in 17 games, finishing with 90 total tackles, six tackles for loss, a pass deflection, and a fumble recovery.
The 32-year-old now joins Pittsburgh under a new coaching regime with Mike McCarthy as the head coach and Patrick Graham as the defensive coordinator. Roberts has familiarity with Graham's scheme, as Graham was the defensive coordinator for the Raiders in the 2025 season.

Roberts will provide depth at the inside linebacker position behind Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson.
Queen is a leader for the Steelers defense as he played at a high level in 2025, posting 120 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, a sack, four pass deflections, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
Wilson is the inside linebacker alongside Queen, and he is coming off a breakout year in 2025. The 26-year-old had 126 total tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass deflections, an interception, and a fumble recovery.
With Queen and Wilson established as the starters, Roberts won't be a starter, but he could be solid depth at inside linebacker due to his familiarity with both the franchise and Graham's scheme.
While the Steelers are entering a new era under McCarthy, they are looking to win the AFC North for a second straight season and make a deeper playoff run. Pittsburgh has a talented roster with 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers leading the offense and the defense featuring star pass rushers T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward.
Adding more depth with the signing of Roberts will help McCarthy and the Steelers' quest to make it back to the playoffs.
